You may have heard Moen’s slogan before: “Buy it for looks, buy it for life.” Most people are familiar with this catch phrase, which is meant to convey quality and durability alongside beauty and attractiveness. Yet Moen is not as well known for its commercial product line.
From high-traffic schools to state-of-the-art office buildings, Moen commercial products incorporate smart design with advanced technology–the same traits that led the company to be a market leader in the residential space. And this is why Moen commercial is such a good fit with Duff: we serve high-demand facilities and institutions, and Moen’s unique combination of product design and durability has saved our customers substantially in their plumbing budgets.
M-POWER Electronic Sensor Flush Valve
In our opinion, this is the heart of the commercial product line. Moen’s sensor flush valve uses a self-cleaning piston instead of a diaphragm to flush. That means no more diaphragm changes! Because of its design, as you can see in the picture below, any debris that collects on the stainless steel screen is washed away every time the piston depresses on a flush. This design carries over from the sensor to the manual models. But what’s particularly special about the sensor flush valves is that you can change the gallons per flush on the unit, anywhere from 3.5 gpf to 0.125 gpf. Because Moen is relatively new to the commercial scene, they developed a clever “retrofit” option which easily fits into existing flushometer installations of Sloan or Zurn models. Finally, because Moen is so confident in this product line, they offer a 5-year warranty on everything–parts and electronics. The electronic sensor products are available battery-powered (AA) or with a plug-in AC transformer.
Again, the highlights on the flushometer that make it a value in the long run:
- No diaphragms to change
- Self-cleaning piston
- Adjustable GPF (no need to keep dual stock for closets and urinals)
- Manual override push button (on the sensor), not tied to electronics, and which can be concealed behind the valve
- 5-year warranty on parts and electronics
- Works with pressure as low as 10 psi (on the sensor) and 15 psi (on the manual)
- Economical solution for existing installation compared to purchasing a sidemount flusher a new drop-in kit
M-DURA Single-Handle Lav Faucet
If there’s one product that demonstrates the Moen commerical line of product’s dedication to durability, it’s this product. Affectionately known as “the boat anchor” (because of its heavy, cast brass construction), this is one of our top selling products. Once you hold it in your hand, you’ll realize how well it’s built. In short, this product is built to last.
These faucets are made with a durable ceramic cartridge and have various vandal resistant features. They also come with adjustable temperature limit stops to provide anti-scalding protection.
What’s more compelling is the slew of customer testimonials raving about this product.
M-POWER Electronic Sensor Lav Faucet
As with their flushometer line, Moen has focused on quality, durability and ease of maintenance for the sensor lavatory faucets. Once again, the product line is backed by an industry-leading 5-year warranty (on parts and electronics). Additional features include:
- Vandal resistant torque screw to discourage tampering
- Optional lever handle for temperature control and manual on/off override
- Above-deck battery and faucet mechanics for ease of access
- Sentinel flow option to purge the waterway 24 hours from last use and cleaning mode that enables temporary deactivation for cleaning and maintenance
Of course, this series is available with or without a deck plate (4″ or 8″ versions), and with or without a drain assembly. In the field, these have proven to withstand the heaviest use areas, including college dormitories, rest stops and hospital bathrooms.
